Panna Tiger Reserve is a critical tiger habitat located in the Vindhya Hill in northern Madhya Pradesh. It is a fragile yet dynamic dry deciduous forest. The land is characterized by vast plateaus, deep gorges, mesmerizing waterfalls, natural wonders, archaeological splendors, rich cultural heritage, and deep legends.
The Ken River, with its pristine beauty, flows through this reserve, adding to its enchanting landscape. Surrounded by natural boundaries, Panna is bordered by a teak forest to the north, while the east is enveloped by a Teak-Kardhai mixed forest.
The Vindhya Hill ranges, which run from northeast to southwest, act as a natural bridge connecting the eastern and western populations of wild animals, making this reserve a key sanctuary for biodiversity.
Khajuraho Airport (IATA: HJR, ICAO: VEKO) is a domestic airport serving Khajuraho and Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh. It's located 30km from the Panna Tiger Reserve.
Khajuraho Railway Station (40km from the reserve) is the nearest station, with Satna Railway Junction (75km) offering more connectivity to major cities.
